What next after my old dog goes?

My 11 years old standard schnauzer look like going off to heaven soon. I could either give up totally on dog or look for another puppy (which type?) to start all over again. To date, I have keep 2 schanuzer, 1 shetland and 1 English cocker. I am thinking of getting a Chow chow or bull terrier. Something fierce for a challenge. But, after reading up on them, it seem they are not suitable for me. I go around looking for standard schnauzer in Pasir pet farm, but none carry them, only got plenty of mini schnauzer. So, what should I do next?? any advise? I'm not sure what should I keep next too...
