**Selling of Live Animals Are Not Allowed**

Due to the ruling made by AVA in Section 48 of the Animals and Birds Act 2002, there is to be absolutely NO SALE OF ANY PETS in this forum.

Notice from AVA:

The Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority (AVA) would like to inform the public that the commercial breeding of animals can only be carried out on farms licensed by AVA. Pet owners who regularly breed and advertise to sell pets can be considered as commercial breeders. An individual convicted of breeding and selling animals from his premises without a licence from AVA can be fined up to $5,000 upon conviction.

Sales of pet accessories is of course allowed.
Pets to be given up can be posted in the adoption forums.

Further Notes:

Rescues of strays are an exception to the 'no adoption fee' rule however the following must be undertaken by poster before it can be deemed justifiable to charge any adoption fees:

1) Any fees charged for 'veterinary/health/treatment expenses' incurred must be justified with proof of scanned vet receipts and veterinary report. Reports are easily obtainable from the clinic's reception counter and these will show proper details of the dog's treatments/ailments etc.

If for microchip/vaccination expenses a scan of the microchip certificate/vaccination card must be posted.

2) Any other fees (for reasons of deterrence of resellers etc) must be openly stated on the first post of the thread that it will be donated to an animal rescue organisation of adopter's choice. A note must be made that adopters should pay the fee in the form of a crossed cheque made payable to the name of the animal shelter. Fees should not be given in cash.
